Kingston sits on the Corkscrew Road corridor in Estero, in Lee County, between Fort Myers and Naples. Where it sits on that road matters more than most buyers expect.
The corridor, honestly
Corkscrew Road has absorbed an enormous amount of new residential development over the past decade, and Kingston is one of the larger projects still to come. The eastern end of the corridor is quieter, greener and more affordable; the western end, closer to I-75, is where the shopping and the traffic both are. Kingston is east of the established communities, which means a longer daily drive west and, in exchange, more land for the money.
Drive times on Corkscrew during season are not the same as drive times in August. If you are visiting in summer, add meaningfully to whatever you experience, and ideally drive the route once at 8am on a weekday in February before you commit.
What is nearby
- Coconut Point — the main open-air shopping and dining centre for Estero, west toward US 41.
- Miromar Outlets and Gulf Coast Town Center — larger retail, near the I-75 and Alico Road interchange.
- Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW) — north via I-75, comfortably the easiest major airport in the region.
- Gulf beaches — Bonita Beach and Barefoot Beach are the closest access points, west through Bonita Springs.
- Hertz Arena and FGCU — events and university, both within the immediate area.
Who the area suits
Estero works well for buyers who want new construction, low-maintenance living and proximity to both Naples and Fort Myers without paying a Naples address premium. It works less well for buyers who want walkability or a historic downtown — this is a car-dependent corridor, and Kingston, being further east, is more car-dependent than most.
